No, it is not a trial for two brothers that play football in the NFL; it is the upcoming trial of an Army corporal (Bradley Manning) who allegedly released thousands of classified documents to Wilileaks in 2010. The defense position seems to reflect a strategy that Manning did NOT intend to “aid or abet the enemy” by releasing the material for public exposure. He was only trying to “get the truth out” concerning a war to which he objected.
He faces 22 separate charges related to his various offenses and faces life in prison if found guilty.
I wonder if this is going to turn into another “Pentagon Papers” type public event.
